We have overcome the world – it is settled. The world system, kosmos, the spirit of this present age is no match for our overcoming faith that is Spirit-birthed and Spirit-Empowered. How do we practically overcome this present evil world?
By the law of devotion. Devotion is defined, by Daniel Webster, as “The state of being dedicated, consecrated, or solemnly set apart for a particular purpose. A solemn attention to the Supreme Being in worship; a yielding of the heart and affections to God, with reverence, faith and piety, in religious duties, particularly in prayer and meditation.”
The force of devotion is a necessary trait of the believer to practically experience the victory Christ has bought for us which now exists in our spiritual DNA as children of God.
